Re: 6 months programs for in the USA for environmental Professionals

We are Educational Organization. We are into Event Management and Community Empowerment Program.

Our Partner in the USA will be organizing 6 month environmental Workshop for environmental professionals, We therefore request for 10 nominee from your country.

Our main program is to brings together emerging environmental leaders from around the world to participate in an environmental service program. 

Participants are nominated by environmental groups (i.e. NGOs, student clubs, community groups, etc.) in their home country, and spend six months in Seattle , Washington , USA .  The programs focus on physical hands-on field service to teach participants about environmental restoration, community building and leadership. This is not a classroom or workshop – 80% of the program is in the field, in all weather conditions and requires participants to be very physical.

The Program Organiser takes care of all the basic needs the participants may have while in the program, including room, board and a small stipend, and we also offer an airfare reimbursement scholarship that can pay 30% of participants’ transportation costs up to $820. 

Participants must be able to speak English and have an interest in physical work outdoors as well as open-mindedness to various cultures.

Your organization’s contact information will be added to our  list of partner organizations and they will be updated throughout the year regarding open volunteer positions.

In addition to being referred by your organization via the Candidate Nomination form, you will need to send the following documents to us before being considered for any  positions:

· Resume/C.V.

· Autobiography detailing the appli can t’s related experiences working in the environmental field.

·  International Participant Application

· Dental Form complete with signature and authorization stamp.

·  Medical Form complete with signature and authorization stamp.

· Copy of the picture page of your passport and any US Embassy issued stamps and/or visas.

Qualified applicants will be reviewed by a panel of  staff.  Our Partner in the USA rate applicants based on their relative experience and their position in their sponsoring organization.  We look for people who can adequately use their  training once they return home.

Our Partner has established the following minimum criteria to be considered for the program: · 18-25 years of age

· Conversational English

· No Criminal Record

BEFORE YOU APPLY please note that our partner is required by the US government to ensure that every applicant meets strict criteria in order to qualify for a US J-1 Trainee visa. Before applying please make sure you meet the following minimum criteria:

· 4 year college degree in the environmental field and 1 year of relevant work experience*

- OR- 

· 5 years of work experience in the environmental field*

* These criteria are only for meeting US government regulations regarding the J-1 Trainee visa. Your American team members may have less experience than this when entering the program.

DEADLINES AND START DATES:

· Candidate Nomination Dead Line: September 31, 2009

· Applicant Application Dead Line: October 31, 2008

· Participant selection: November 2009

· Visa processing: December – February  2010

· Travel confirmation: February 2010

·  Program starting date: March 2010

· Program graduation: August 2010
